London College of Communication is celebrating the launch of the new Graduate Certificate Enterprise -- a project-based learning programme which will offer an excellent opportunity to acquire and hone one’s entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of the creative industries. This is a free course being offered for the April 2008 intake. It is an excellent way to address the costly continued professional development (CPD) issues for the creative industries, as it is fully funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England for the April participants.
In today’s era of decreased public funding and competition within the creative field, it is more important than ever to create sustainable business solutions within the creative and cultural industries. The innovative Graduate Certificate Enterprise has been designed to address this need.
Participants of the course will: • Undertake most of their learning in the workplace – only 7 days (over a year) attendance at college is required • Have the opportunity to devise their own project aimed at growing their business or developing entrepreneurial capacity in their workplace • Be supported by experienced mentors who have a track record of success in the creative industries • Expand their networks and contacts in the sector At this event Debi Hayes, Dean of the School of Creative Enterprise, will present the course and will be joined by guest speakers renowned for their entrepreneurial and insightful creative practice.
